Hezbollah and the ‘al-Manâr Affaire'

Through an analysis of the French “al-Manar affair”, this article first explains the nature of the Lebanese Hezbollah television station and the conditions concerning its broadcasts in France. It then deals briefly with the juridical and political issues involved in banning the station and concludes with an analysis of how the Hezbollah dealt with this measure through the party's strategy of “political communication”.
A travers un retour sur l' « affaire al-Manâr » en France, cet article se propose, dans un premier temps, de présenter, la chaîne du Hezbollah libanais et les conditions de sa diffusion en France, pour revenir ensuite brièvement sur les enjeux juridiques et politiques de son interdiction et explorer enfin la gestion de cette mesure par le Hezbollah en l'appréhendant à travers la stratégie de « communication politique » de ce parti.
