LES PARADOXES MYSTIQUES : L'EXEMPLE DE SHIBLI

Abstract : The famous iraki saint Shiblî (8-9th century AD) was known for his strange, paradoxical utterings and his often odd behaviour. He was at times considered as a madman. This article tries to point out why this strangeness stems logically from the extatical state experienced by the mystic.
