La ville à l'épreuve du mouvement : mobilités et renouvellement du paysage urbain

Abstract : The contemporary situation of global mobility is tied to an original visual approach of the city. The purpose of this article is to show in which ways understanding the perception of the urban area experienced by users of motorized transportation is relevant for analyzing and designing the city.
After a field survey which was performed in a train between stations in the city of Lyon, a repertory of visual effects in movement was compiled. This repertory describes the shared perception of urban spaces by passengers through their daily experience of movement. Finally, an original method for city analysis in terms of perception in motion is proposed.
