Abstract : This article presents some results of clinical, psychoanalytically oriented educational research on the concept of relation to knowledge. It underlines the role of emotions in the encounter with knowledge. Reflecting on denial of emotions and of learning impediments within the school system has led us to put together student speech groups focused on those difficulties. Speech groups may indeed help us reach two goals: they may offer youngsters a space to build upon their own emotions, whilst allowing teachers to improve their capacity to understand them.
