Des variables observées aux variables manipulées : un cas particulier de l'opérationnisme multiple ou convergent : un cas particulier de l'opérationnisme multiple ou convergent

Abstract : Linking a concept and a measure, the concept of operationalization is fundamental to the epistemology of scientific psychology. Operationalization is approached on a historical perspective since the work of Bridgman in physics. Multiple operationalism is commonly expressed as a measure of the convergent validity of a construct. The case is examined according to which the same construct (eg: Need for cognitive closure) is approached as a measured variable (eg. Self-reported score at the scale of need for cognitive closure) and as a manipulated variable (eg. the level of noise associated with a task). The boundaries of multiple operationalism are examined.
