De quelques fonctions de d- dans les langues sudarabiques modernes.

Abstract : d (or the interdental equivalent) is a component of the deictic in many Semitic languages. In Modern South Arabian languages, it is polyfunctional, with a very large syntactic scope. While a determiner and actualizer, it is a marker of the determinative component of a syntagm, either verbal or nominal ; as a copula it delimits the predicate ; as a connective or relative, it links two elements within the syntagm. When connecting two clauses (the main clause and its completive), the level of the predicative relation as a whole is at stake. When used as an aspecto-temporal marker, it locates the predicate relative to the speaker or any point of reference in the text ; as a marker of modality, it links the speaker and the whole content of his enunciation. This syntactic scale goes from syntagm to clause, from clause to the predicative relation and extends to enunciation.
