Urban Development Programme in France : 'La Politique de la Ville' : Towards a More Integrated Urban Governance

The Politique de la ville is one of the "integrated policies for urban development" which have been promoted in Europe for the past few years. This policy, among others, is part of a movement to reform the politico-administrative and urban governance systems which lie at the source of urban fragmentation and social exclusion problems. This chapter show the evolutions of this policy, then it describes its characteristics and lastly, the transformation process of the French local governance systems called reformist conspiracy.
