On Sanskrit commentaries dealing with mathematics (Vth-XIIth century)

Abstract : The diversity of past readings on Sanskrit commentaries dealing with mathematics is analyzed in a study of texts composed between the fifth and the twelfth century A. D. Their collection in libraries, the way they were treated by historians of mathematics, and a close reading of the commentaries themselves opens new perspectives on the diversity of mathematical texts and practices as much as on the history of positional arithmetics in India.
