Le prédicat nominal dans les articles de presse

Abstract : The aim of this work is to show how, in articles from newspapers, the nominal predicate oscillates between, on one hand, its aptitude for being fully rhematical in giving information, and, on the other hand, its ability to lose rhematical density when it only gives a look about a piece of information. In that case, it knows a prospective or a retrospective function. These two possibilities can be held simultaneously in some utterances. In this way, the nominal predicate regulates the text's information.
