Syrie : Experts-comptables et commissaires aux comptes : Figures d'une mutation annoncée

Abstract : In 2005, the Syrian Asssociation of Accountants publicly demanded the creation of an independant professional body. After 1965, the profession had been dominated by civil servants and public sector employees. But in the last few years, independant offices have started to develop new activities and representatives of international audit firms have reappeared. The paper presents three figures of the profession, corresponding to three generations and three moments of Syria's recent history.
