Langues créoles : état des lieux des recherches et propositions pour une approche multicausale de leur genèse

Abstract : This paper is divided into two main sections. The first one is a state of the art of the current theories of genesis of the Creole languages. The different approaches are presented and commented. The second one is a case study, which deals with the development of TMA markers in the Eastern Maroon Creoles of Suriname. We show in this section how a multicausal and multilayered analysis is to be taken into account in the description of this particular process, but also in a general proposition for the genesis of Creole languages.
