Le centre canonial de Saint-Martin de Tours et ses domaines périphériques en Val de Loire (IXe-Xe s.)

Abstract : The carolingians deeds of Saint-Martin of Tours allow to piece together the possessions of this chapter in the IX-Xth centuries. We could show not only the outstanding permanence and wealth of this property, but also the aims chased after by the canons when they managed their possessions. A few texts allow us to tackle especially the question of the supplying of this institution, which the needs of consumption could be estimated, notably the number of persons required for the working of Saint-Martin. The analysis of the vestitus and the supplying of meet suggests that the canons organized a complex system, but also integrated in the hydrographical net of the Loire, and articulated in accordance with a centre-periphery logic.
