"quant à" : analyse pragmatique de l'évolution diachronique (14ème - 16ème siècles)

Abstract : This study proposes an analysis of the evolution (from the 14th to the 16th century) of the "quant à X, ..." constructions in initial position, in a "syntactic-pragmatical" perspective. It first appears that there is an important increase of the expression in that position, X playing an increasing role of topic or of "repère". We then observe a tightening of the syntactic-pragmatical link between X (or its referential element) and the following utterance. Finally, the presence of the enunciator becomes more and more obvious, either through the occurrences of "quant à moi", or through an increasing "repérage" of the internal enunciator.
