La traduction d'ouvrages français en espagnol au XVIIIe siècle
Résumé
At the end of the XVIIIth century, after a whole century of a swift and almost constant increase, a quarter of all new Spanish printed works are translations; half of those are translations from french; half of these translations from french are religious works. Enlightened France exports religion. The translated religious works are carefully selected after the pastoral interest of the Spanish higher clergy: preaching, devotional works directed to the believer, ecclesiology, a sligth dosis of polemics against the Enlightenment at the end of the century. Translatations are adapted for the Spanish public, but as a whole correctly done. Mechanisms of selection and of reception are still to be studied.
