Et je te la fais en version courte... ou du recueil des paroles à rire chez les musiciens

Abstract : "And I'll give you the short version..." or about the collection of words for laughter among musicians
A great number of words for laughter of music professionals are about musicians, their characteristics, their practices, and their working conditions. These topics provide matter for reflexion on how musicians perceive their profession. Among the natural conditions of production of these words for laughter, the author distinguishes two models of enunciation. One of restricted exchange (generally, dual transmission) and another of generalized exchange (duel). By confronting the research options for collecting such words for laughter, the author shows the contradiction between in situ observation and recording out of context. Participation in collective exchanges of words for laughter enables the ethnologist to understand the sense of the laughter but it poses problem of memorization and corpus creation. A collection recorded out of context produces fragmented testimonies without any relation to the complexity of texts produced in natural ritual circumstances. The article invites us, therefore, to think about the role of the context in the production of oral texts. (Translated by Patricia Torres Mejía)
