"Que veut dire ’prendre soin de l’environnement" ? Une analyse philosophique du lien entre écologie et santé
Résumé
he concern for the relationship of individuals, human groups, and even humankind to their « environment » is the departure point of this paper. It aims at understanding what it means to care for and about the environment, a quite unclear idea. A first step is made in this direction with the reference to the idea of « global bioethics » formulated by Van Rensselaer Potter. However, this perspective must be considered in a long-term history, whose source is the Hippocratic works. This frame allows to understand better the diverse relationships that have been established between human health and the « environment » throughout the history of human societies. Above all, it enables us to grasp the one that develops in our era : human health is partly based on the ways human beings care for and about the environment. Finally, this paper examines the difficulties associated with one of the means adopted to take care of the environment, grounded on its representation as a capital.
