Entreprise nationale, transition énergétique et innovation territoriale en montagne française

Abstract : This text questions the socio-political conditions of the energy transition by studying the forms of its territorialisation in the French mountains. It is based upon a field research conducted with the help of EDF hydroelectric program “A river, a territory”. The goal is to provide keys to understand the restructuring of local energy systems using a tool, the multilevel analysis of public policies, in order to address three main questions. First, a historical approach which specifies what is really “transitional” in this program, second, a geographical approach that shows the conflict of spatiality carried by the implementation of local agencies, and third, a strategic reading of the real economic issues of the negotiation.
