Homelessness, disorder in public space and the revanchist city.
Résumé
This paper analyses new forms and expressions of solidarity and then highlights more concrete utterances of solidarity with the homeless in a particular neighbourhood in Brussels (Les Marolles) which is rapidly gentrifying. Our findings are based on interviews with a wide range of concerned actors. One key-finding is that post-Fordist solidarity continuously creates disorder in public space and hence it is the seedbed for contemporary forms of disciplining urban culture.
