Saillance et antisaillance en hindi
Résumé
The paper aims at appreciating the relevance of the notion "salience" at three levels, nouns "naturally" salient, nouns syntactically constructed as salient, and the whole statement as constructed as salient, by means of a marked predicate. The opposite phenomena, consisting in erasing salience, will help grasping at the notion. Section 1 deals with the alternations markedness/unmarkedness of objects and subjects, and suggests the notion of anti-salience for nominal constituents, an opposition found also in the verbal paradigm, conditioning the representation of the whole statement as salient, neutral or anti-salient, with the "smoothing" imperfect or the mirative extensions of aorist (section 3). Section 2. deals with emphatics and the focalization of a constituent which is syntactically constructed as salient.
L'étude vise à évaluer la pertinence de la notion de saillance à trois niveaux : celui des noms 'naturellement' saillants, celui des noms syntaxiquement mis en saillance, et celui de l'énoncé complet, par marquage du prédicat. Le phénomène inverse, qui consiste à effacer la saillance, aidera à cerner la notion. La section 1 examine les alternances entre marquage et non marquage des objets et des sujets et propose la notion d'anti-saillance pour les constituants nominaux, opposition qui se retrouve dans le paradigme verbal (section 3), et conditionne la représentation de l'énoncé comme saillant, neutre ou antisaillant, avec l'imparfait de lissage et les valeurs miratives de l'aoriste. La section 2 est consacrée aux emphatiques et à la focalisation d'un constituant syntaxiquement saillant.
