Verbal stem space and verb to noun conversion in French

In this paper I present the verbal stem space in French and its use in lexeme formation. First, I present the stem spaces worked out by Bonami & Boye' (2002; 2003; 2005) for verbs and adjectives. Then I show that the verbal stem space needs to be extended with an extra slot in order to account for a number of lexeme-formation rules. Finally, I show that verb to noun conversion can select three different stems as input.
