Conflit de contours en architecture - " L'esthétique du voile à l'Alhambra ! "
Résumé
A comparison between the Alhambra palace in Granada and the "Architecture of Lace" serves to highlight the return of ornamental profusion in wall coverings. This profusion uses the "aesthetics of the metaphor", derived from jewelry and textile art, to transform the appearance of the material in order both to guarantee harmonious composition and to render the surface dynamic. By establishing a dialogue between architecture and weaving, an "aesthetic of the veil" emerges allowing, as a result, new forms of architectural experience to arise. Through creating an interdependency between textile, text, and tectonic, the fabrication of a "sensitive texture" is accomplished. This correlation contributes to a new materiality, one that nurtures a sensory architecture.
