Literary history takes for granted that the first maqâma composed by al-Harîrî was al-maqâma al-harâmiyya, positioned 48th in his Maqâmât This article shows how this assumption which alleges that the character oAbû Zayd al-Sarûgî actually lived, is an ideological reality rather than a historical one. It thus restores al maqâma al-san'âniyya, placed first in al-harîrî's book, to its inaugural function
L'histoire littéraire tient pour acquis que la première maqâma composée par al-Harîrî est la quarante-huitième dans l'ordre de classement de ses Maqâmât, al-maqâma al-harâmiyya. Cet article montre comment cette affirmation, qui prétend conférer au personnage d'Abû Zayd al-Sarûgî une existence historique, s'apparente bien moins à l'histoire qu'à l'idéologie et restitue à la maqâma san'âniyya, première dans le classement du recueil d'al-Harîrî, sa fonction inaugurale
