Le statut du fou dans le Kitâb 'Uqalâ' al-majânîn de Nîsâbûrî: Les modalités d'une exclusion

Through the stydu of the Kitâb 'Uqalâ' al-majânîn by al-Nîsabûrî (d. 406/1016), here considered as an "open work" calling for several concomitant interprétations, this paper aims at a double abjective: to offer to the reader a thematic classification of anecdotes which the book arranges according to their hero; than to assert that this work is a proof, directly or not, that the status of the madman within the society described by the author was indubitably one of exclusion. This aim has lead to the analysis of some of the identified themes (the breaking of the bonds of kinship, the exchange of insults, the relationships between the madman and chilkdren, the abodes of the madman, the specialized institutions ans the administered tratments). It is hoped that this research has confirmed the specific interest of a work which still retains, as far as it is known today, its portion of originality.
En étudiant le Kitâb 'Uqalâ' al-majânîn de Nisâbûrî (m. 406/1016) comme une "oeuvre ouverte", faisant appel à plusieurs lectures concomitantes, cette étude a voulu répondre à un double objectif: fournir aux lecteurs un classement par thèmes des anecdotes, ordonnées dans l'ouvrage en fonction de leurs héros; puis, établir que le recueil apprend, directement ou indirectement, que le statut du fou dans la société décrite par l'auteur était indibitablement un statut d'exclusion. Dans ce but, il a été procédé à l'analyse de certains des thèmes dégagés (rupture des liens de parenté, échange d'insultes, relations entre le fou et les enfants, lieux de résidence des fous, établissement spécialisés, soins dispensés). Cette recherche espère avoir pu confirmer l'intérêt spécifique d'un ouvrage qui conserve, en l'état actuel de nos connaissances, sa part d'originalité
