CARTOGRAPHIE STRATÉGIQUE DES ACTIONS DE DÉVELOPPEMENT DURABLE : LE CAS DE PME FRANÇAISES
Résumé
Based on the strategy mapping methodology developed by Kaplan and Norton, this research draws a synthesis of the indicators of sustainable development proposed by the Global Reporting Initiative ( GRI). Without any French SMEs applying the GRI standard, our empirical study retains the case of companies which have opted for the United Nations Global Compact. In order to cover all the strategic objectives, thirty main GRI indicators are identified. The quality of the managerial tool obtained is tested by two manners, firstly by comparing it to the propositions of the French Accounting Academy, and secondly by testing it with five case studies of SMEs. The difficulties in order to obtain a scorecard balanced for all stakeholders and dealing with sector specificity are hence revealed. Several paths of progress for the sustainability reports of SMEs are finally identified.
A partir des travaux de Kaplan et Norton consacrés à la cartographie stratégique, cette recherche permet de synthétiser graphiquement les indicateurs de développement durable proposés par la Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). En l'absence de PME françaises appliquant la norme GRI, l'étude empirique retient le cas des entreprises ayant adhéré au Pacte Mondial des Nations Unies. L'ensemble des objectifs stratégiques conformes au GRI permet de retenir une trentaine d'indicateurs GRI. La qualité de l'outil de pilotage obtenu est testée de deux façons, d'une part, en le comparant aux propositions de l'Académie des Sciences Techniques Comptables et Financières, d'autre part, en le testant à partir du cas de cinq PME. Les difficultés pour obtenir un tableau de bord équilibré prenant en considération l'ensemble des parties prenantes et adapté aux spécificités sectorielles sont ainsi mises en évidence. Plusieurs axes d'amélioration ayant trait au reporting sociétal des PME sont finalement identifiés.
