Morphosyntactic Mismatches revisited: the case of Romanian Supine
Résumé
This paper is concerned with morphosyntactic mismatches, i.e. mismatches between features that count for the external syntax (distribution) and features that count for
the internal syntax. Such cases are the English "Poss-ing" Gerund or the Romanian Supine. It examines the "mixed" verbal and nominal nature of the Supine, establishes criteria for considering a form "mixed", and proves that the Supine should not be considered that way. It provides an Distributed Morphology-type analysis of this form, which is considered non-affixal, stem-based.
