Expanding the Network of Postal Routes in France 1708-1833.

This article presents the way in which the French territory was gradually equipped by the network with the roads with Horse Post. The study was undertaken by using GIS. The most important elements are the growth of the density of the network, like its complexification in time. These evolutions are studied on a French territory scale, initially by analyzing the morphology of the network, then by observing the great distributions. The result shows forms and methods of divergent growths on the territory.

Dans cet article nous étudierons la construction du réseau des routes de poste en France, utilisées dès l'origine pour le transport des voyageurs. Cette étude a été menée à l'aide d'un SIG. Les éléments les plus importants sont la croissance de la densité du réseau, ainsi que sa complexification dans le temps. Ces évolutions sont étudiées à l'échelle du territoire français, d'abord en analysant la morphologie du réseau, puis en observant les grandes répartitions. Le résultat montre des formes et des modalités de croissances divergentes sur le territoire.
