Die Fürsten Löwenstein an der Spitze der deutschen Katholikentage : Aufstieg und Untergang einer Dynastie (1868-1968)

Dieser Beitrag zeigt auf, wie die Familie Löwenstein über drei aufeinander folgende Generationen hinweg an der Spitze der Katholikentage einen Ausgleich für den Verlust ihres politischen Einflusses fand. Der Beitrag analysiert, wie die Fürsten sich an die Moderne im religiösen, kulturellen, sozialen und politischen Bereich anpassten. Diese Veröffentlichung über Vorstellungswelt und Mentalitäten des Adels stellt die These in Frage, der zufolge der katholische Adel die Ideen der Moderne in ihrer Gesamtheit ablehnte und sich vom Wandel der deutschen Gesellschaft fernhielt.

This article analyses how the Löwenstein adapted to modern age in the religious, cultural, social, and political fields./// Ce texte se propose de comprendre comment les Löwenstein, pendant trois générations successives, ont trouvé à la tête des Katholikentage une compensation à la perte de leur influence politique. Il analyse la manière dont ces princes se sont adaptés à la modernité dans les domaines religieux, culturels, sociaux et politiques. Cette publication, qui s'articule autour du thème " représentations et mentalités aristocratiques ", cherche à remettre en question la thèse selon laquelle l'aristocratie catholique aurait refusé en bloc les idées modernes en se tenant à l'écart des transformations de la société allemande.
