Es handelt sich um eine Biographie dieses katholischen Adeligen, der von 1920 bis 1948 Präsident des Zentralkomitees war, das seit 1898 mit der Organisation der Katholikentage beauftragt war. Sie zeigt außerdem, wie der Fürst sein Handeln stets an zwei Prioritäten orientierte: an der Förderung der Integration der katholischen Minderheit in die deutsche Gesellschaft und an dem Erhalt der politischen Einheit des Katholizismus.

/// This brief biography is about the aristocrat who was at the head of the Catholic Congresses from 1920 until 1948. In the 1920s and 1930s, the concentration of power at the head of the Catholic Congresses was the remainder of the congresses' organisation prior to the First World War and it was for this reason intentionally preserved. The only significant change was the nomination of Alois zu Löwenstein whose personality and political background actually gave every assurance that he would mainly follow in his father's steps, i.e. promote a conservative policy backed by the episcopate. Indeed, Löwenstein's attitude at the head of the Catholic Congresses mirrored both his social origin and his political sensibility. He pursued the same aim as his father, which was the protection and promotion of traditional values and social order. In contrast to his father, however, he was a pragmatic, willing to make concessions to the Weimar Republic in order to extend the political and social influence of German Catholics.///
Il s'agit d'une biographie de l'aristocrate catholique président du Comité central de 1920 à 1948, Comité chargé d'organiser les Katholikentage depuis 1898. Elle montre que le prince subordonnait son action à deux priorités : favoriser l'intégration de la minorité catholique à la société allemande et préserver l'unité politique du catholicisme.
