Paradoxes et survivances. Le cinéma éducateur à Lyon et Clermont-Ferrand, 1929-1939
Résumé
Educational Cinema Offices - or "offices du cinema éducateur" - appeared in France in the 1920's. Making use of film for secular propaganda and popular emancipation, this movement distinguishes from cinephilia. Offices contributed to spread the use of moving images during school time and extracurricular activities. Raymond Borde, who founded La Cinémathèque de Toulouse, wrote a book about these institutions. His archives were used to create database and improve the knowledge about this special type of film screenings.
